I bet Mrs Anna the travel agent BOOKS these vacations and therefore Profits form the bookings. Negril doesnt need the Russians, the Russians need Negril so ya know deal with it. I find the statement to be very Bully type. I spend money there also, lots but I dont make demands...

How well I remember my first trip to Paris walking around in the early morning desperately asking locals for a restaurant with "cafe Americain". I don't recall anyone suggesting I would change Parisian culture forever or that I stay home if I don't want teeny tiny expresso.

We should not forget that Negril is a tourist destination. When we are there we are tourists. Happy tourists=more tourists=more $ and jobs for Jamaica.

I like food - all kinds of food - I like variety - I like having choices while I frequent Negril. Seastar had perogies for awhile - I miss them ......
The good thing about this thread is that it made me google Russian recipes - would you believe it - pasta - chicken - beef - seafood !!
I think I just might try one tonight!

And for another blast from the past, the Hot Diggity Dog Restaurant catering to the American palate didnt cause much of change in Negril back in 1999.... (grin)

Except for a hole in the owners' wallet! LMAO!!!!

I am going to start a Ukranian Cookshack in Negril.....Perogys, Blintzes, Borscht, and Olivye! Pickled Lionfish, boiled cabbage with caraway seeds, mashed turnips with butter and mustard! And ice cold VODKA! Not that grain based swill, but real potato vodka!

And knysh as well. Instead of the patty guy...we could have the knysh guy....

Rob, by the looks of it, the "Scottish" place was a big success. What happened to it?

One of the owner's passed away - that kinda "took the wind out of the sails" for Scots Al - he still posts here every once and a while...
