Been coming to Negril for 30 years, never seen a square sausage or black pudding supper anywhere.
And I've never been able to buy a deep fried Mars Bar!!!
    Racist I call it.
There actually was a Scottish restaurant in Negril for a while - called Hallzer's. It was run by Scots Al. Here is a Negril Today page I posted for them back in November 2002:

And there was no problem, the restaurant didnt turn Negril in Vegas or Disneyland... (grin)

I like food - all kinds of food - I like variety - I like having choices while I frequent Negril. Seastar had perogies for awhile - I miss them ......
The good thing about this thread is that it made me google Russian recipes - would you believe it - pasta - chicken - beef - seafood !!
I think I just might try one tonight!

And for another blast from the past, the Hot Diggity Dog Restaurant catering to the American palate didnt cause much of change in Negril back in 1999.... (grin)

Rob, by the looks of it, the "Scottish" place was a big success. What happened to it?

One of the owner's passed away - that kinda "took the wind out of the sails" for Scots Al - he still posts here every once and a while...

I'm somewhat surprised to learn Russians crave their veggies. Besides cabbage carrots and potatoes I don't see a lot of Vegetables in their cuisine. Am going to work in Poland for 2 weeks tonight (hope to make it back for the boardie bash!) and I don't expect many greens. They do have Mcdonalds though. Hope the Russians find out about callaloo!

Hey Miss Anna, nice to see you on the board again!

I have seen the newspaper articles about more Russian visitors coming to Jamaica. Your food suggestions are very simple, really; and if just a few places decide to pick up on it, cool.
