Jamaican chefs could do wonders with potato cabbage sour cream and jerk spices. Just look at Jamaican -Italian cooking

Except for a hole in the owners' wallet! LMAO!!!!

I am going to start a Ukranian Cookshack in Negril.....Perogys, Blintzes, Borscht, and Olivye! Pickled Lionfish, boiled cabbage with caraway seeds, mashed turnips with butter and mustard! And ice cold VODKA! Not that grain based swill, but real potato vodka!

And knysh as well. Instead of the patty guy...we could have the knysh guy....

Alfred's serves steamed vegetables with their meals. The veggies vary but there's usually carrots, cabbage, and some greens. They have the worlds best mashed potatoes most nights as well. Be sure to try the mashed pumpkin when it's offered.
One of my favorite meals is the Chicken Stroganoff at Kuyaba. Russians probably prefer Beef Stroganoff but chicken is a great substitute.

I see a smart and creative restaurant owner who will come with some type of Jam/Russian fusion cuisine....and yes, have some cold vodka..I see nothing wrong with that-theres PLENTY of cookshops in and around negril to get the real local deal...I'm sure theres plenty of you that longed for a good ole burger, pizza or order american style breakfast-or american style anything (instead of Jam style) Your no different than Russians who want for something from their region...

Don't forget that not everyone in Negril is there as a visitor/tourist. People who live there year round get tired of the same restaurant and menu options and gladly are willing to patronize new places if the food tastes good, no matter what country of origin. Jamaicans too are willing to try new foods or twists on the same items eaten day after day. There is always room for something new in town. If there wasn't, Negril would still be the same little fishing village it once was, with simplicity the mainstay of the day, and those who have been coming long enough (even just a few years) know how that is no longer the case.

I just hope the Russian tourists heading to Negril, are not like the ones I have run across in Cuba.

I was just in Negril for 11 days and not once did I have rice and peas (not that I don't like it ....but) I prefer mashed potatoes and veggies and every place I Had dinner (with the exception of the jerk chicken drums) I had mashed potatoes.....I just asked for them and it was no problem.....same with the veggies.....whatever hotel they are staying at if they ask for vodka to be iced at the beginning...trust me the bar tender will have it for them for the rest of the vacation......It would be a good idea to talk to the hotel owners (since you are organizing this - or seem to be) and request it for your guests. I have found that most people bend over backwards to help if they know about it....I think it is wonderful that you have arranged this......hope everyone enjoys their stay....BTW I had the opportunity to live in Moscow for 6 mos back in 2000.....and with the exception of Canadian Bagel on Tervoskaia/Yamskaia I couldn't find much Canadian food in Moscow, or mexican, english, or scottish LOL.... and few signs in English (only Cryllic alphabet)....passed museums for six mos and never knew what they were ...you might want to speak to the tourist board in Moscow about that
    (just a little joke)
