Mr. and Mrs. D's Anniversary in Negril

I've been meaning to post some pics from our anniversary trip this past October...so, here it is!

I'm not going to write a complete trip report - instead I will post our best pictures and maybe add some color commentary.

Here's the first picture I found on the memory card. An ackee tree. On the ride in from MoBay, our driver Chris, gave us a little tour of his hometown of Orange Bay. We stopped at his sister's shop and he treated us to a Red Stripe. The ackee tree was by Chris' house, not far from his sister's shop.

We finally arrived at Home Sweet Home and I rushed to veranda to take in the view.

Sorry to keep you waiting. Here's a few more.

During our stay at HSH, the whole place was basically under construction. All the rooms were being updated as well as the restaurant. The restaurant was open for us, but we were served on the little patio outside the kitchen, instead of the main restaurant. Here is a rare picture of Mrs. D. waiting for our first dinner.

The next day we headed straight for the beach - and where else did we go, but Sun Beach! While we were lounging in our beach chairs and swimming in the water, none other than Rob shows up and sits down at the bar for a drink. We had been to a couple webcasts on our previous trip, but I never formally introduced myself to Rob. I walked up to the bar and we chatted for minute. Rob reminded me that the coming Thursday was the Canoe Bar grand reopening party, and urged us to check it out.

While chilling at Sun Beach, the fruit guy came by and sold us some pineapple chunks and guinep. Man, those little things are tasty!

Since we arrived on a Wednesday and were leaving the next Wednesday, we talked to Lenbert about having a special Friday edition of One Love Pub Crawl. We were able to drum-up enough interest, so the Friday Pub Crawl was a go! The awesome boardie NikkiV was on-board for the fun and she brought along a couple guests from the Blue Cave Castle. NikkiV is a cool lady, and she knows the runnings as well as anybody.

Halfway through the crawl we made a stop at Ahh Bee's. Sitting out front, we see none other than Booger and Pooper, enjoying a couple burgers! They hop on the bus, and from there the crawl goes in several unexpected directions, with a side trip to Sexy Rexy's and a final stop at Ivan's.

Another interesting point about this pub crawl, was that there were 2 guys from Living Social on the bus doing research for an article about Negril. They were taking notes and snapping pictures with a professional looking camera. I believe they were staying at a big AI, and they were just blown away by the West End. They kept asking questions for their notes. They asked Mrs D., "What was the name of that bar we just stopped at?". My wife replied, "Mi Yard". To that they replied, "Me what?!". And that went on for a while...

Here are a few pics of the afternoon. I know I posed for a few pics, but it must have been with someone else's camera. Unfortunately my shots do not contain any boardies.

Here are a few pics from our trip to Little Bay and the Blue Hole. Not sure why I don't have any pics of the Blue Hole, itself.

I also have a couple videos of the "professional" divers doing some crazy jumps into the Blue Hole. I will post those, once I get them uploaded.
