I can't imagine a beach vacation that is all thunderstorms and clouds........which is pretty much what AccuWeather.com is saying for the days that they have listed so far......right now it's the first 3 or 4 days and not one of sun!!

Has anyone been to 7 mile beach during early May in recent years? Should we plan for any swim time? Frankly, if mornings til noon are good I don't care if it rains afterward!

Appreciate any feedback.
One thing about a weather forecast for Jamaica is that it will almost always show some form of rain. Jamaica has rainforests and arid-like deserts; mountains and flatlands. Negril is on the West End of the Island and most bad weather comes from the Northeast, East, South and Southeast during the summer months.

With the exception on heavy rains, tropical storms and hurricanes etc., you should just experience a brief shower around 3pm everyday but that is just a "cooling off" rain due to the high humidity.

The earlier in the day and later in the evening you plan your events your chances are better to avoid the rains. Once the sun heats up the land the clouds begin to form and the chances are better for a nice rain.

Learn to play dominos, take a nap or have a beer under a zinc roof like the locals do.
