The gift shop on the Chances property has them, have not had much luck with cigars in Jamaica though, lots of fakes, and stale cuban,s.

I always buy my Cuban cigars from my good friend Tarun who owns the little shop (Irie Jams) next to the Tree House. I spend $500.00 with him on cigars to bring home for my buds & they can't wait to get them!!! They like the Cohiba light & medium torpedos...about $212.00 a box..asking price. You never have to worry about the old switcharoo with his stogie's & his price's are fair but feel free to to bargin a bit. Been doing biz with him the last 4 years..when i get there I stop in to say hi & tell him the day I'm leaving & give him my order..which is always waiting for me as promised. I look forward to seeing him next visit Feb. 2014. Tell Jack from Chicago sent you...he'll know who your talking about.

Husband says he gets both Cuban and Dominican Republic cigars at the Store immediately north of the Palms (almost connected to Palms). He likes Cohiba's, Romeo and Juliet, and Churchills and Monte Cristo's.

No problem on the single cigars...frankly he makes more $ than selling me 2 to 3 box's of them. I keep getting text's from my buds that I brought them back for telling how damm good they are...I personally don't indulge. My order keeps going up each year. Tarun's a real nice guy too no pressure, he'll be behind the counter or just ask for him. Next year will be my 21st year visit there.....I sure miss Negril & all my friends there...just got back March 6th from my 5 weeks stay. I've been in that store by the Palms shopping for cigars before meeting Tarun..he came highly recommened by one of my oldest & dearest friends there....he was right!!

There is no la casa del habano (cuban government certified cigar dealer) in Jamaica, so I might buy a stick for the right price. Also remember Cohiba never made a class top humidor. I brings about 10 La Flor Dominicana Coronado Cigars for me and a 20 bundle of Flor De Oliva cigars to smoke with locals/friends and give away as gifts.

the fact that you still see glass top humidors in Negril, in broad daylight is hilarious.

negril is full of 99% bunk cuban cigars. what you said deserves to be said again. cuban cigars are not cheap, especially with Jamaica's protectionist tariffs which practically make it impossible to have a good tobacconist selling legitimate cigars when there is so much counterfeiting.

there are several tell tales. no box or loose singles? please, lol. Havana doesn't sell cigars in bundles. bunk. last time I saw a shyte ton of "cohiba" torpedoes in cellophane. they looked like darts. no such animal exists in cuba. cigars of different shade wrappers in the same box? bunk. look at the cigars, if there are different marques and they all have the same color wrapper, bunk. The foot of the cigar can also be a tell tale- traditional cuban rollers use a "bookend" style pattern when they roll the cigar. Also the cap can be a tell tale if you know what to look for, due also to the style of rolling and applying the cap.

there was only one legitimate shop operating in times square years ago and they closed down. caveat emptor. there is from what I have heard a nice shop owned by the same people who had the shop in times square in Mobay and also they run the airport tobacco shops.

some of the cigars are cuban in origin, but if you buy a bolivar and a hoyo they will taste the same. they are not the marques they are supposed to be.

    jamaican cigars are pretty good.
