Superclubs
We stayed at Breezes in Feb. At that time, we had no problem cutting through Hedo, since they are/were sister properties. I heard lately that Hedo was no longer a part of Superclubs, is this true? Also, lately, I've heard that Breezes has also been sold.
I went to Breezes website, and any date that I plugged in showed SOLD OUT. Really? the top of the line room is booked for all of May and June? that's hard to believe.
Has anyone heard any info about these two properties? We also stay at Rooms on the Beach, which is Superclubs. I really hope nothing changes there.

Re: Superclubs
We walked through Hedo to point village with another couple over New Years. No problem walking through. NEver been to Hedo before that. It was interesting, to say the least.

Re: Superclubs
I just called Superclubs. They said that as of April 17th, they no longer own Breezes Negril. When I asked who we would contact to book there, she said that they would have to do their own publicity. The details should come out soon. Now I'm really curious.

Re: Superclubs
Breezes Grand is a shell of its former regal Grand Lido with the Onasis yacht.I stayed there the last 2 years because there is this window from Dec 7-14 where they have Big sales. I got the Cove room for $225 Per Couple which is a great price.
So therefore I don't really care that the Italian restaurant never had any A/C and the food was lame. The beach is still great and the drinks good also, but I would never pay $400 per night. Front desk staff is kinda rude but the guys at the nude pool/grill are very good. Remember Super Clubs took it over to replenish the place but I think they just milked it for the cash then sold.
It still has good bones and great beach location.I see it going "upscale" again. There is only so much room on Bloody Bay.

Re: Superclubs
I agree Fred. We stayed there, two years ago, for the first time. We only chose it because of the great deal at the end of October. We paid $2000, all in. Including flights from Canada, which are normally about $1000. We'd never been to Grand Lido, it was too pricey. But at this price, it was wonderful. Yes, there were a few problems, but all in all, a great place to stay for a week of R&R.
We normally stay at non-AI on the 7 mile, but with only a week, we find it easier to just go AI. Once you lose two travel days, only have 5 days left, I dont want to invest the time in money exchange, shopping for supplies, etc. So Breezes served the purpose.
We stayed this year, for 4 days, to chill before going to Rooms for 7 days. Nothing had changed.
But I agree, seems that Superclubs milked it, kept things status quo, now sold it.
It was a good choice, for AI in Negril, I hope it remains that way.

Re: Superclubs
Here is a huge link on the other website addressing this:

Gone are the days of Prince Ranier and Princess Grace's honeymoon yacht sunset cruises! I have some wonderful memories of that place - I was actually supposed to get married there at one point in the beautiful gazebo perched over the water (luckily for me that never became a memory). I loved the rooms that were overlooking the small cove there - so beautiful, peaceful and serene, loved the 24 hour room service and the bars that stayed open all night. It's too bad - but I guess a good thing never does last forever.

Re: Superclubs
thanks for finding that info! Now we'll wait and see what happens next. Maybe Canadians will get a better deal with Sunwing?

Re: Superclubs
In the mid 80's we were staying at Hedo. The Wild Thing used to dock there. So the Hedo crowd gets on the Wild Thing for the cruise to Ricks, half are nude half not. The yacht from Grand Lido was going by,they were dressed in nice white fancy clothes and the Wild Thing was well,Wild.
Quite the opposites as the fancy dressed guests of Lido went past us and we all waved and yelled HI!
