Because I have the world's greatest wife, she has again blessed another trip with the boys to my favorite addiction.
I basically get to roll back the clock and dwell in a time and place where I do what I want, when I want.
No one to answer to. No 7 am hockey practice taxi service. No meal planner. No laundry.
Just me and bliss. My wife gets it, and indulges her man child-husband. She travels for Target internationally for about 6 weeks out of the year- so she desires no more time away from the kids... She has been to Jamaica, and loved it. But she gets her Spring fix of warm weather in Thailand, Vietnam, Phillippines, Indonesia etc... albeit while working.
Every year , when it is a boys trip, I feel a tinge guilt: Do I DESERVE this? Can we afford this? Am I the most selfish man on the planet?
Let this picture stand as an answer to all Negril-Loving, guilt burdened tundra dwellers everywhere! It is April fricking 18th, and we are under blizzard conditions. YES I deserve this, I can't afford NOT to go, and most guys are selfish a little.
For all the good folks out there who don't live in this kind of climate, let the picture serve as a metaphor for all your daily burdens that sum up to you also EARNING and deserving your trips...

Wow! Although, I don't have all the snow in Texas, I do feel REALLY guilty about taking my 2nd solo (wife sanctioned)trip next week to Negril with out my sweetie of almost 23 years. I'd planned this trip awhile ago, but job responsibilities came up and she won't be able to make it. It seems whenever I go on a trip business or pleasure is usally combined and I end up really, really wishing she was there. That means I usually end up re-creating the trip and attempt to show her the things that wowed me in the 1st place...Call me wimp, Lol, but that's just how it is.. We are truly beach people, but this time I am staying in the West End for the 1st time in 8 trips to Negril.
