For me, what makes Jamaica so special is the mixture of raw sensuality of the people, the culture and the beautiful surroundings. If you can't feel "more alive" in Jamaica, you maybe need to see a doctor and have him check you for a pulse.

From the musical lyrics of the songs to the lilting Patois of the people, everything seems to entice you try new things, eat different foods and to learn more about the people and their culture.

Most of us have a "pioneering spirit" somewhere in our souls that makes us believe that we too can live off the land and easily assimilate ourselves into the local runnings. Sometimes we romanticize the notion that life is free and easy in Jamaica even when we see people struggling to have a roof over their heads and food in their belly.

Jamaica is sweet and has a wee bit of a bitter taste of danger that makes it exotic as well as intoxicating at the same time.

I have traveled many miles looking for a place to lay my head until I discovered Jamaica where I found a place to put my bed.

Negril is our place to let a years worth of work fade away and make a new years memories come to life.We have been together about 38 years and spend so much time at home working and taking care of, our home & landscaping, grown kids and grandkids, and all of lifes challenges, that we don't get the proper "us time"until the day we board the plane for Negril. When we board that plane,we become the kids we were when we became best friends many years ago,it is the best time of the whole year for us and we can't wait to do it more often!!

I can't explain it, but we can't wait to return to Negril. This year we had a fantastic time going to Ixtapa, everything was just what we needed that we go to Negril for, we don't do AI, so I wanted to try something new, and found another slice of Paradise. I think we might have to rely on each other more as a couple than when you are in your home surroundings, creating that closeness that gets lost during the home routine. By not going to Negril this year we had to discover new places to eat and drink, places to stock up on supplies, figure out transportation, all the things we had begun to take for granted in Negril. As much as we look forward to a return to Ixtapa, it will have to wait. We will be making those long walks to all our favourite spots in Negril soon come, Cheers!

Size: 94.7 KB"it has always been a place for us to sit and spend hours talking and saying few words...
one time on the cliffs, we watched a sunset-moon rise and set- and sunrise.........thats deep discussion
we would look at each other every morning and fall in love again......each day was like a new "date"......and
power outages (although a pain for some) we just romantic for us, the cliffs would light up with a amber-golden glow from all the individual lanterns........the smells would blend in with the music that would drift in and out in the calmer night air...........each minute, hour and day would be so different from the last, you couldn't wait for each new minute.........lifelong memories for sure
"One of the laundry gals pipes up ,,"LOOK AT DA BLOOD"
"YES,THAT WOULD BE MINE" I said as my leg that at first gave no pain, started dishing it out in large bunches........"
