    Sumfest 2013

I m curious about Sumfest. My first trip to Ja was to the Sunsplash in 82 and got me hooked. How crowded do the hotels get in Mo Bay/Negril? Are tickets readily available? Does staying in Negril and commuting in for a show work? Any advice or just experiences/stories will be savored and valued.

    thanks

My first Sunsplash was 1984, I flew in a couple of years ago just in time for Dancehall night. No room at Gloriana but we found a room close to the venue for a decent rate for the night, then continued on to Negril the next day. Travel from Negril would be doable, but most likely at premium rates and adds an hour and a half each way plus traffic around the venue. We got tix at the gate, not much of a line as it was still early when we went in.

Nice! THE PLAN is to spend 5-7 nights in Negril then to finish off with the Sumfest. Didnt know about ATI so that helps solidify THE PLAN. One last question and my apologies to Rob about the Mo Bay questions on the Negril board. Is the hip strip within walking distance of the concert venue?

on the other hand what is this ATI you speak of? THE PLAN is now morphing...so this is two consecutive weekends of awesomeness?

I have been 3 times. Rooms or tickets have never been a problem. Negril is a long haul both ways and i don't think i've ever left the Sumfest grounds before 2am.

I/we have always done a few days in MoBay for Sumfest then onto Negril or Ochie
Formerly SmokeySteve...but i lost my password.
