    Cool Stoney Gate

I'm new to this site and hope I am not posting this for the second time. This forum is so full of great knowledge on Negril and I know I can count on you to provide me with information. Has anyone stayed at Stoney Gate or know anyone that has stayed there. Could you share your experience of your stay there. It looks quaint and cozy and we are considering staying as alternative to staying in a resort.
From the picture I've seen the boardie bash looked like it was a blast! Maybe some day we'll be able to join in.

hey JahLove, wifey and I stayed there a few years ago... there were certainly some pros n cons...

    PROS:

    inexpensive
    location on the west end
    cute n quaint cottage
    loved their dogs
one late night wifey was super mad (well just drunk n hungry really), the owner Jeannie overheard us and walked over with a tuna fish sandwich! So kind of her, we got a laugh because out of anything in this world- wifey hates tuna fish.. but she chowed this one right down- no problem! hahaha
kind of cool staying 'up a lane' in more of a neighborhood atmosphere
cottage is way larger than any room we've ever stayed at in negril
    comfy hammock
close to Bella Donnas- they host reggae shows there so it was nice to hear the music form the porch and head over
in the cottage- there was a bottle of rum cream and a big submarine samwich wating for us
kind of cool staying in a cottage... you can easily picture what life would be like living on the island (as opposed to an ocean view suite)

    CONS:

there were several mornings waking up to their dogs barking at passerby goats
lost a pair of shoes to the dogs (our bad though- we were warned)
one morning a huge centipede thingy was in our shower... come to find out they are super poisoness
the gate doesnt open that easily sober let alone drizzunk... the neighbor came over and help us with it a couple times hahaha
the water ran out with about 3 days left of our stay. I could go without it just fine, but wifey not so much. we had to use the outdoor showers at negril escape

Thanks for your feedback, the centipede is really creepy. We've never come across them at any of the resorts we've stayed at in the past. Is there anything that deters them?

Not having water would be quite inconvenient but its good to know what we could be dealing with. Were you able to have water for cooking?

No water at all... if you're considering staying there- id just talk to jeannie about the water issue and make sure that wont happen to you while you are there. Maybe set a deal... full price for every day with water... half price every day without. If shes confident that there will be running water every day, then she should jump on that.
