A couple of items that might be worth considering. The difference in quality between SamSara and RIUClub is wide. And, there is a fairly wide price difference. Samsara is at the lowest end of the spectrum. RIUClub is in the middle.
I am surprised you didn't review the jerk chicken stand on the beach at RIUClub. It is actually very good. Hope you tried it.
You definitely need to confirm your A/C situation in the future! I can't live without it in JA other than late December or early January....
If you found out the AI situation isn't for you....that's a good thing! Plenty of nice smaller properties that will be happy to cater to any special request that you have. Unless you crave the crowds of the AI's....why bother?
