Sandy Haven Resort/For Real

Anyone been by there on the beach and can post pics of what is going on at the place as far as renovations are going? Has the building been repainted? Any news or pics would be great.

There is a partial zinc and plastic tarp fence around the property at present, there is really nothing at all to take pictures of yet. No new painting of the building yet, stay tuned!

They are tearing out the walls to install sliding glass doors. THe color has not changed yet. But I have to add that Sandy Haven sounds like a retirement home to me.

Thats exactly what i said to my friend when i passed by the zinc metal fencing last month.
However at that time it was called 'andy Haven'.. until the painter they hired, came back 2 days later to add the 'S'.

Ok I have the scoop. It is going to be very upscale and a little more pricey than Idle A While. They are soft opening in December with an introductory pirce and then the pricing will be a little up there. It is going to be luxury with a 4 star restaurant and bar. Over the years on Negril.com I have noticed people are very budget conscious so I do not think many people on this board will take to the place too well. I plan to try it during the soft opening and will report back to all.

BUT, Ms. M..Idleawhile is always booked for many months ahead, but has been in business for quite a few years & has EARNED their reputation....not sure how easy it will be for a newcomer with higher prices!?

that is what I said the first time there was a post on this board about it being called Sandy Haven=Retirement Home. Just about any word inserted before haven sounds like retirement or funeral home. Andy haven sounds interesting.

words out that Sandy Haven is going to be superb. The rates are higher than For Real...but you can see why with the upgrades. The color has not changed yet but I heard it will, something easier on the eyes. The name Haven makes me think its safe! Its about time there is a decent hotel ON THE BEACH!!!!
