The only problem is something they would constitute liquid or a gel. I bought a tub of smoked salmon cream cheese and it was not allowed and the $8.00 tub tossed. Not sure what would have happened if I already had it in a bagel!!

I always pack some snacks (cookies, crackers, candy) in a carry-on and have never had a problem.

I always have a window seat. Just turn toward the window. Hold the mix in the left hand..Vodka in the right......Wait till the attendants are serving the people behind you....

    Quick pour....

One hint......bring your own stir stick......When you ask for tomato or bloody Mary mix you don't get a stirrer...

    Damn overcharging airlines!

My friend always packs her quart size carry on baggie with those little alcohol shot bottles. Never once has it been an issue.

I always bring snacks..but as Dwest mentioned..have to be careful with what they count as a "liquid". Those little cheese and cracker things with the spreadable cheese they made me cram in my quart baggie once. Just bring more solid types of snacks if you're unsure!!

I brought a bag of Munchos in my carry on last trip down. They're packaged in a Mylar or Mylar-type bag. When I fished it out in flight, it had expanded big time with the pressure! It was hilarious! Like a big Munchos balloon! I was afraid it would make a big POP if I opened it, so I left it. I had visions of panicked fellow passengers covered in Munchos bits! (I'm a bit paranoid). I opened my carry on after landing, before we were docked at the jetway, and it has deflated totally back down. It was way cool!

That said, you could probably get more into your luggage. I'm with Capt D - the prices on the airlines are outrageous, and we always take something O/B with us for the flight - but I haven't tried to bring a portable bar yet ... great idea!
