    Red Stripe

Back in the 1970's and 80's the Red Stripe Beer in Jamaica was unbelievable. It used to be in the long neck bottles and then the short stout one. A few Red Stripes in the sun and you were seeing colors. The Red Stripe available in the US has never tasted or felt the same. Not sure if its brewed here or what but for sure its not the same formula or potency. In the 70's there were many rural areas in Jamaica that did not have electricity hence no refrigeration and often time you would come upon a beer shop / rum shop with hot beer. Although many on the forum seem not to like Red Strip warm it actually tastes great and you get a lot more flavor. Many European countries drink their beer warm including Germany where they actually put a heating element into the beer stein to make it hot.

Although a hot Red Stripe is interesting there is nothing like an ice cold one anytime night or day!!Name: Jamaican Delights.jpg

I know that there is a brewery in Pennsylvania that brews the red stripe we get here in Ohio and you are right it doesn't taste the same.

Just not the same. Neither is the sand the same in my cubicle at work. Got a hammock though, it works, just close my eyes and listen to the waves...in my head.
