Even in Cincinnati-not far from home!

I arrived in Cincy Wednesday night, coming up for a Franciscan meeting next week and taking a few days of vacation on the front and back end of that. My brother friars, family members, friends and former co-workers are all eager to hear about my exploits in Negril. I love telling about St. Anthony's Kitchen, the Get Kids to School Programme, life at Mary Gate of Heaven Church and more. In the sharing of my life and work, Negril.com and all you boardies have gotten lots of mention. So many of you are a blessing to our work with the poor folks in Negril. One couple will drop off 80 pair of flip-flops at Sunday Mass--big sale a Old Navy. Sorry to say I will miss meeting the folks. Some of you have volunteered at St. Anthony's Kitchen, some have brought school supplies, back packs, clothes. Some have donated money. One boardie couple is inquiring about sponsoring a child in the GKTS programme. Thanks to Rob for introducing me to the board and to some much kindness flowing from it--I found myself mentioned the board and boardies in many conversations. So I take a little time from a "vacation" day to write from The Queen City of the West to say thanks! And, the first thing on my agenda was to satisfy THE CRAVE and hit a White Castle and down a few sliders--little indescribable hamburgers--one of the great pleasures of life! Peace to all! --Fr. Jim

    Fr. Jim,

The blessings are ours when we can help a little.

Don't forget Graeters, LaRosa's, Skyline and Montgomery Inn while you are here in town.

    Fr. Jim,
It was a pleasure meeting you. Enjoy your time in Cincinnati and those hamburgers to. What you do for the children is wonderful. Hope to see you in November.

Had a Subway BMT for lunch today. Looking forward to a good steak tonight! Even while here enjoying some pleasures--like comfort food, a wonderful shower and family and friends--my thought go back home to Negril! Had lunch yesterday with a wonderful benefactor who has donated a generous gift of stock. That will help keep the school bus running for a while! --Fr. Jim

Dear Fr. Jim, I hope you are enjoying your trip and getting to eat all the foods you crave while at home.
Great news on the sponsor and I'm sure help will be coming on all your needs for the Soup Kitchen and Ride to school program.
Blessing to you for all you do and Betty and I hope to see you next April.

    As Will Rogers said:

"If the world comes to an end, I want to be in Cincinnati. Everything comes there 10 years later."

No one is sure if it was Will Rogers or Mark Twain who said that. Both have received cresit for it.
