Input of prior stay? Rates? Restaurant?
Input of prior stay? Rates? Restaurant?
I did a search on Sandy Haven in the forum, but don't really see too much about it. It is relatively new as it replaced the old For Real hotel/bar.
I would check out some of the sites that give reviews.
It has a nice piece of beach and is located in a great spot, that's all I can tell you for sure.

Thanks Rina for the response! I will look into it![]()
I stayed there last year..rooms are very nice..nice section of beach..restaurant and bar are quite expensive but nice...They have deals every now and then online..maybe you can catch one..otherwise its over 400 a night main floor ocean front on peak season..
We used to go there all the time when it was For Real. They had a great little Tiki Bar (Robert and Moreans) right off the beach that we used to call the "sports bar" because they were the only place around that had a TV. It was a great place to stop for a beer and a burn. They had a bunch of vendors (Sammy's) with little huts set up where you could hang out, and the people staying there were always cool.
Alas, one day (3+ years ago I think) we were horrified to find out that our favorite little retreat was gone and in its place was a fancy new bar (much bigger). I learned that the place had changed hands and they threw all the vendors out and our friends with the bar were forced to relocate down the beach a ways. (Sunnyside Beach Bar)
Even know we decided that we would not go there again, we did stop there once last year just for old times sake. We were pretty disappointed when we ordered a Red Stripe and a mudslide and the bill was something like $1500. BS
Did u see this?

Looks like a great deal but it is expiring soon. Make sure to read the fine print also.
10% government tax, 10% service charge, $1 per day room tax are not included; payable directly to the property
Most of the poster,s on here are budget type travellors, so not too many of us would pay the price to stay at Sandy Haven, Spa Retreat, Moondance, or any of those nicer, more expensive type places. Me, I am just to cheap to pay that much for a room to sleep in a couple hours and have a shower.
Trip #59 most of February
We took a tour of the property in February and it was beautiful! Too rich for my blood though; I'd rather stay longer than more expensive.
Don't waste your time with explanations, people only hear what they want to hear.
The reviews I have read have been mixed to say the least. Everything from over the top in love with the place, to sooooo seething angry, that I'm sure the author's were losing sleep thinking about it. And not much in between those extremes.
Personally, I don't think of it as a viable option for our vacation.
That is a deal for 100 a night plus tax..I never really ate or drank there that much when I was there but you cant go wrong on that living social deal..
