Answering the question "Where you ah stay" provides much more information than where you are lodging!
Does anybody remember a Dread who used to hang out at Miss Gloria's by the name Wilbert? He has a brother named Hubert. Well Wilbert him a hustler, him a hustle man or woman don't matter. He used to sit down around breakfast at T-Water and order a big breakfast and reason with some tourists and then all of a sudden he was gone and when the bill came he was no where to be found. Great at the chew and screw. I remember a time when he was tour guiding for a couple of white guys who were always totally messed on quaaludes, rum, ganja, you name it and they talked like Tommy Chong "Wow man". Anyway they were staying in the back room of the A-Frame and I was in the front and you could hear every word somebody spoke. Well to make a long story short these two guys wallets went missing and they were "Wooow Wilberttttt where's our wallets at man??" Of course Wilbert had no idea where the cash went!!!! He loved to hustle the white chicks too. Man it was something to see.
Only in Jamaica,
I see people wear wind breakers even when the sun is blazing hot. They wear hooded sweaters. Lol

some people may live in a flimsy home made of plywood and corrugated metal but they often have speakers almost as big as their house.
Know Wilbert well. I could tell many stories about him. Hubert is still around sells jewelry
has not aged well. People tell me Wilbert is down by the roundabout I have not seen him
in years.
Thanks Van,
Yeah Wilbert was something. Sorry to hear about Hubert as I found him to be a reasonable guy and now that you mention it I remember him selling jewelry back in the old days too.

I first met both Wilbert and Hubert back in the early 80's. They were usually around Miss Gloria's (she was their aunt), and I stayed at what was commonly called Sammy's Place (in area between BarBBarn and the old DeBuss) for a couple of years. I too could tell lots of stories about Wilbert - he was the biggest hustler on the beach back in the 80's, but had a good heart. I ran into Hubert a couple of years ago and had a drink together and chatted. He told me about his grandkids, and also said that Wilbert was pretty mashed up by coke. I didn't think that Hubert had aged that badly - he is now well into his 60's (damm it - so am I!).
This is one i don't understand...people with board houses with burglar bars.
