December Airfare booked - excellent upgrade but no non-stop

i guess we're lucky then - in season at lest 4 direct flights daily out of Toronto and and probably at least 5 a week out of Ottawa. We just have to pay through the nose for them

That seems to be the going rate. Pay through the nose or go through the time and trouble of a very long travel day with at least one stop. I guess that's the point the airlines are making. I even see flights from South Florida going to Atlanta or Dallas Fort Worth even Chicago and then to MoBay or Kingston, an hour away!! Here in the states the prevailing thought process is no sense makes sense.
