I used to jump from Rick's way back when it was a little joint on the cliffs. After jumping several times from the jumping spot that used to be by the original bar, barefoot and naked I took to wearing sneakers and shorts holding my nose closed with one hand and my vitals with the other. Too many salt water enimas, stinging nuts and water in my nasal cavity taught me the hard way. I've seen many people injured from jumping at the cliffs especially after too many drinks and / or puffs. 30 to 40 feet down into ocean leaves little room for error. Don't know if there have been any deaths there as a result but wouldn't be surprised, especially since who is there to save you if don't come up or get the wind knocked out and start to drown????
