Nothing has replaced it. It is a very eerie place with a strong negative vibe....

I agree about the vibe. It's a place on the beach that kinda makes you want to hurry past and look over your shoulder.

I do have some fond memories of drinking some of the first bottles of Kingston Lager beer that reached Negril maybe 2009 or so.
The washrooms were horrid; but then so are a lot of others.
Toward the end, the pizza was an attraction and very good indeed.
Didn't like the high benches at the bar where your feet didn't touch the sand and it was an effort for older folks to climb up and down on, but that's probably just as well given the number of beach dogs allowed to hang about the place.
Didn't like the gross plastic cooler that held the ice (portions of it were black with use).
Didn't like 'Shadow', who claimed his family once owed the property and who begged drinks, smokes, and money; but that was a bit before the 'Johns' got things better organized.
It was an O.K. place to hang, but there were other better places on the beach for sure.

i liked the bar a lot, the high seats where hard for me also, but i think, and i could be wrong about this, but i think it helped keep the sand flies off your legs.
i spent a fair bit of time there, john had some really good music sometimes, i love reggae but it was nice to hear something different once in a while.
Big_Frank: i'm going to assume you're a man, be thankful you didn't have to sit down in the bathroom, but i have seen worse.
the beer was more expensive there so it limited my time there somewhat, but there were some regulars i got to know a little and i enjoyed hanging out with them.
it surprising to me that that the space is still vacant.

I loved the place, John always treated me great and yes he played wicked music, especially late/early I should say.

One of my fondest memories and first time there, was not planned at all. The power was out at our hotel and by 1:00am or so after attempting to lay down and force myself to crash in the still, darkest of dark heat, I could take it no longer. I got up and dressed and told security I'd be back when they figured out their power issue. As I stumbled down the beach slightly irritated about my lodging / power issue, in the distance I could hear music. Follow my ears and as I got closer I couldn't believe the pounding sound I could hear was not reggae but faintly in the distance sounded like Led Zepplin?! As I got closer indeed it was "When the Levee Breaks" by Zepplin and on the big screen John had reruns of the Patriots vs the Giants playing. I'll never forget me shaking my head and asking myself "am I trippin?". Nope, sat down ordered a beer, chatted with the 4 or 5 people there and finally met John. For the next few hours we watched football listened to the tunes and chatted about everything. It was freakin awesome and we got blitzed. Had a great time and around 5:00am or so I excused myself to go check the power situation back at the Rayon. Yahtzee!! Power back on and 36/security guard had went into my room and cranked my air for me. Cold enough to crash a few hours and start it all over again

I've had some great nachos there and the pizza at the end was wicked. I do remember having some bad chicken as in burnt and showed it to John and he apologized and no charge for food or drinks that night. I've seen the restrooms good more than bad. But I do remember that cooler, yikes.

I miss it, no bad vibe for me when I pass it, fond memories and I miss it.

High benches did kind of suck,

Loved it when it was open, the Sunday night webcasts were the best. Great food, music and vibe. After all the bad craziness went down the place seemed to become a hangout for less than reputable types. About a year later my Empress and I were walking past the now mostly deserted property and stopped to look and take a picture when several of the hangers about started coming towards us cursing us out. We quickly continued on our way. Bad vibes ever since.

I liked when John first opened it before he built the front on the beach.Relax, play pool or ping pong and Mr.Chin would whip up some wicked chinese food.Still liked the place when he got popular and John always treated me with respect. To bad bad things happened, he built quite a bizz there.
