Anybody fly ORD to MBJ with stop at CLT??

We fly out on July 4th on US Air. We leave ORD at 5:45 am and have a 1 hour layover at CLT before heading to MBJ. My question is will we have to run through the airport or will we be ok time-wise in getting to our connection? We've never flown into CLT so don't know what to expect as far as airport size and things of that nature. I just want to be prepared so I can clue my hubby in - he can be quite a difficult person to travel with! Thanks!

We have but it was a few years ago. I don't remember there being any problems back then though. If flying is an issue you should look into Air Tran out of Midway. They have non stop flights into MBJ a few days a week. Thats what we do and we have had good luck the last couple trips. Just a thought. Enjoy your trip!

Thank You! I did check out Air Tran when originally looking for flights. At the time Us Air was a much better price and gets us into MBJ early and departs late afternoon when it's time to go home. I will keep it in mind for our next trip. Thanks again!

We typically fly the 5:50 AM flight from DAY through CLT with an hour (or less) layover. That's plenty of time to get through CLT. It's a relatively small airport (especially compared to O'Hare) and easy to navigate. The only problem will be if your flight out of ORD is delayed.

I agree with Johio... a short morning CLT layover on the way to JA is typical for me and I have never had a problem.

Charlotte is a fairly easy airport to navigate, and being on an early-morning flight you most likely won't have any problems - you probably will get in a little early.

The one thing to also keep in mind, in case your flight does get delayed and you can't make your connection is there is another CLT to MBJ flight less than 2 hours later. If you are in Chicago and you are delayed, go to the counter and ask the gate agent to back you up on the 11:29 a.m. flight in case you miss your connection.

    Enjoy your trip!

CLT is one of the easiest airports to navigate. You will not get lost or confused. All my connections to Jamaica have been at CLT.

I've flown that route several times and have always made the connection. Only once did I have to run...it was Christmas time and we were delayed out of ORD, due to de-icing. But we made it.

The problem is the return flight.......If you have a short connection time, you have to go thru Immigration and Customs and check your luggage all over again.......Ask me how I know.......LOL...
