13 Nights in Negril for December 2013 - HELP Please!

Hello everyone!

I had initially planned to visit the island next month but have since pushed it back to December into January for 14 days. We will be spending our entire holiday season on Jamrock. The only thing is, we haven't a clue where is available for accommodation. Most of the locations are fully booked already.

We are actively considering Westender Inn but heard that is way out on the cliffs. We aren't sure how long of a drive it will be to get to the more central/busy Negril but we want a good mix of fun activities but also a place where we can escape from it all after partying. Is Westender too far out? Is it even safe to travel late night that far out after partying, lets say, on New Year's Eve closer to the heart of Negril?

If you have any recommendations that meet our following requests, please feel free to relay any and all suggestions!

- $200 max/night
- A/C rooms
- WiFi/Internet connection
- Offers or is near a restaurant that offers local breakfast
- Not too far away from all the good activities
- Safe and offers some peace and quiet

ETA: For safe measure, I went ahead and made a reservation with Westender, however, we are still open to suggestions .

Agreed. Westender is too far out especially if your going out partyin. Id just get a room on the cliffs, that way if your out ragin on the beach- its not that hard to get back to the west end. Im partial to the Blue Cave Castle- for under budget you can stay in the penthouse suite (if available) and will not be dissapointed. just checked.. its booked but they do have other rooms open. restaurant on site may be the best in Negril- Teddys Hideaway. All good at the castle!

Catcha Falling Star,Xtabi,both have food and both have quiet places plus they both are close enough to town and the beach that it won't cost a fortune to get around.We pick Catcha over Xtabi but we all have our special places!!

Negril Escape is convenient to everything on the cliffs and offers a good local breakfast. A bit more 'rustic' than some of the other properties mentioned, but fits the bill IMO and doesn't tend to be booked solid.

Christmas week is the hardest, one year when I went, I can't remember how many hotels I contacted both by phone and email, but FINALLY I was able to book this place:
