Love your trip report! And ditto to both you and jon c! I'm a type A personality and am always running around and extremely time conscious. It helps for the job I have, but not for my blood pressure. I went to Negril for the first time this past December and fell in love with it. I loved so many things-- the people, the beach, the locally-owned restaurants and hotels, the food, the sunsets, etc, etc. But one of the things I enjoyed the most was sitting on the beach every single day and just chillin'. I had no idea what date, what day or what time it was the entire trip. And I stayed "unplugged" for the entire 2 weeks. It was heaven. Negril, soon come. In December I shall be in heaven again. Not a moment too soon...

I gotta throw a "ditto" out there as well. And I agree that it's nice to see that there are others who just go to RELAX! We have been to most of the "attractions" around the area over the years, but we still feel like its perfectly acceptable to just hang out and do NOTHING. Thanks for the great report.

Great trip report!!! I stayed at Charela Inn back in 1987 and it was charming. I know it's bigger now but I'm sure the Cool vibes remain the same.

I forgot one crucial little tidbit. Not only did I love doing nothing this past December in Negril, I too, did it at Charela. Absolutely adore Charela and that's where I'll be again this December. I'm attaching a few photos of the room I stayed in.

We stayed in an a junior suite. We liked the idea of walking right out to the beach from the room, but like staying upstairs for the better privacy. Love the view from your room!

I was there the same time as you - by myself, doing pretty much the same thing you did. Eat, drink, relax, repeat. Mine was a short stay - just a 4 night get-away.

There were a number of singles during my stay. It seems like a perfect place to spend time solo. Safe and friendly. I would certainly consider Charela for a sole visit if I needed a total get away. Hope you had a good stay.
