That sucks another old timer gone always admired his work of art.Knew his health was failing it's sad to hear this.
Very sad to hear this, I met him in 1987 when he would set up at the Treehouse with his beautiful coins, I know he has been ill for quite some time, may he rest in peace.
May he rest in peace.
Beautiful coin, wish we would have met himPrayers to his family and friends. Looked like he was a very talented individual.
Some sad news indeed, RIP Andy.
In a conversation some years back we were discussing how he came to negril. It seems that Andy was a jeweler in Des Moines and had visited Negril a couple times. At some point in his life he began to question his career path and he said he came to the realization that he was never going to become financially rich in Des Moines neither would he in Negril. But he said as he sat looking out at a grey leafless 20 degree day he made a decision. I can see how he explained it to me today. He looked me in the eye and said "so if I were never going to become wealthy in either place it came down to cold leafless grey Des Moines or" and he passed his hand in a loop encompassing the trade winded palm trees, beach and blue sea,,,, and with a little smile and shrug of his shoulders enough had been said,,,,, Travel soft Coinmon
Oh but your life experiences made you wealthy in a non-currency way Coinmon
The characters they are a traveling along with the passing of Coinmon, Musicmon comes to mind.
I have won many awards in a lifetime of competition and service. But the highest was offered without plaque or fanfare on a hilltop in post Ivan Jamaica. A true Rasta and a dear friend observed "Chet you are like a father of men, you see need and fulfill that need without being asked". Let us be travelers and not tourist.
