I agree! When I retired, I started looking closely at our monthly bills. Amazing just how much we were spending on a land line! As we say in the medical field, duplication of services for sure. S--- canned the land line and haven't missed it at all! For myself, just got a tracfone which meets my needs nicely. I vote for getting rid of the land line. It took me a long time to wrap my head around it because I had a land line for YEARS.
Now that I don't have it, I don't miss it AND my cell phone bill is MUCH CHEAPER than my land line was.

Like a few boardies said..cook at home...no gifts for us on B'day's, etc...(of course we still get our kids and grandchildren gifts)...if any tax refund, it goes in the vacation fund too! Truly does add up quickly. And last but not least...if the rates to fly are too high or more than we would like, JUST STAY LONGER!!!
