I heard that Chris is selling timeshares for most of his rooms. Anyone know what is behind that decision? I sure hope that doesn't affect my reservation in 2015.

What is the source of this info? The prices appear to be different from what Flip posted. Just wondering which one is accurate.***SEASTAR INN 10 YEAR TIME SHARE***

It might be a good deal if you assume that the standard room rates will increase over the next ten years and you like staying at SeaStar every time. One of the things that makes a traditional timeshare attractive is that you get exchange privileges with other resorts in other locations. However, I know many people are loyal Seastar customers and do stay there every trip, sometimes multiple times a year. But for me - with limited vacation time - I may stay at Seastar, but it wouldn't be for a whole week.
6600 or 5600 to lock yourself into staying a week at seastar for 10 years in a row.
On the $4900 price for before Christmas ; with your maintenance fee and taxes included you are talking about $110 dollars per night. What you would be doing is locking in your nightly rate for the next ten years (with the exception of any increase of the maintenance fee in that time). You still need airfare and transfers food booze etc. so it comes down to what you would pay otherwise and is the location, room size, room capacity, amenities.....fridge? stove or hotplate? microwave? suitable for your needs? The last I looked the rooms are small with a small fridge in some. I don't know if Chris has upgraded the rooms more since then. In the mid 80's I bought into a one bedroom 2 bath unit on the beach for 25 years. Full kitchen, slept 6 with fold out couch in the living room,on the beach in a good location for $6900 and had no regrets.Do your math and weigh your options .
Well, it does say includes all taxes so I don't think that is an issue and at $70/night X 7nights is $4900.00. Yes, the maintenance fee would add another @$6 US so it would be more correct to say $75 US+ change per night.
I think Seastar Inn is a good alternative to those who go to AI's or places like Pointe Village. I live in Jamaica at about $700 per month so it is out of my price range.
Your transfer comment is interesting. I wonder if that is included in the price to and from the airport? Perhaps someone who knows could comment.
