If your talking AI, Beaches would be top, but its big bucks$$$!!
The RIU works too for AI, wasn't my favourite place to stay in Negril.
I stayed at Beaches with my son a few years back he was in kid paradise! Water park, self serve soft ice cream and drinks at every corner, me I kind felt like I was in a really nice jail!

Tell me about it! Went to iberostar rose hall suites for a girls trip with our 4yr olds. Kids first time, my first AI. I couldn't wait to break out of there! It was fun, food was great but where are the trees? So I grabbed my daughter and followed the boat venders to their spot. Ahhhhhh better. Also went to Rocklands bird sanctuary, so nice. Unfortunately the Jamaica addiction awoke after 5 yrs and now I'm back lurking here.. Next time definitely a cabin.

We have been bringing our daughter to Negril since she was 18 months. She will be 6 in October and loves it. We never stay at an AI, just not our thing. She is happy with the beach and the sea.

CoCoLaPalm! See attached pics of us and our then 8 yr old Granddaughter, June, 2012! The CCLP respects and caters to kids.

For an AI RIU club wins hands down you and the Mrs. can still go play around town as they have kids program. Non AI the only place I ever considered bringing mine was Point Village.Apartment sized rooms, isolated and I personally feel very secure there. No hustle, very family friendly in my opinion.

I have been taking my kids to Jamaica since they were babies too. Now they are grown and have their own favorite places to stay in Negril, but as kids they LOVED (and still do) Crystal Waters Villas and CocoLaPalm. They also LOVED Beaches, but the older they got, the more expensive it got, so we had to stop going AI once they all became teens. When we started doing non-AI, though, they seemed to equally like the non-AIs, though I always got my monies' worth out of the AIs because my kids are eating and drinking machines. Once we started doing non-AIs, I just always made sure there was at least a frig to keep some things on hand. Crystal Waters was perfect because those villas come with complete kitchens and is also located next door to Margaritaville, which has the large water trampoline, though noise was never an issue there.
