Gleeping Tree Frogs !

Hello ! Now just bear with me....I know I shouldn't be admitting this but, I watched about 45 minutes of "The Bachelor" with my wife last night. But, what interested me was that this particular show was filmed in Antigua. Not sure where Antigua is from our Jamaica, but we were sitting there watching, and a dusk/nighttime scene came on, and lo and behold the sounds of the pleasing gleeping tree frogs serenade was very very evident!!! Man, I turned up the volume and was transcended to Negril!!! Just a happy good feeling came over me. Great vibes,Mon' ! It was the exact same gleeping Jamaican tree frogs sounds we so look forward to hearing at dusk in Negril! Now, could someone tell me if there are other Caribbean islands with the same tree frog sounds? We went to the DR one time, and they didn't have that signature sound. Antigua sure does! Just curious? All of Jamaica's native amphibians are endemic including the Jamaican Peak Frog Eleutherodactylus alticola (Caribherp), the Jamaican Cave Frog Eleutherodactylus cundalli (ARKive), the Western Yellow-bellied Frog Eleutherodactylus pantoni (Mel J. Rivera), the Jamaican Masked Frog Eleutherodactylus luteolus (ARKive), the Jamaican Laughing Tree Frog Osteopilus ocellatus (flickr), and the Jamaican Snoring Tree Frog Osteopilus crucialis (Caribherp).


They came from JA. The English speaking islands all got them carried in from trade ships in the Islands

Don't ask me why? But,I have a frog tattooed on my back???Did you know that frogs can not go backwards,only forward? Maybe that's why?Always go forward.

When I want to hear tree frogs, all I have to do is go to my local supermarket and listen to the price gun. It sounds exactly like it!
My husband and I loved hearing the sound.

I've personally experience the "gleep" in St. Kitts & Nevis (along with the "songs" from the goats, sheep & cows).
