Thank you 68 and thank you everyone! Your enjoyment inspires me to write on. Assuming the tree frogs don't sing me to sleep, there should be another installment soon.

Re: The Number Five - A Trip Report

Yesterday was another day in paradise. Started the day with an omelet and a few cups of coffee then off we went on a mission to find a watch battery. Knowing the adundance of watch dealers in Time Square, we headed there, it seeming the logical place. No luck but two of them recommend a watch and jewelry repairman across from Burger King. Sounds good. I've always enjoyed browsing at Time Square so we wander aimlessly and soak up some air conditioning. We grab some patties and head back to home away from home. A few Stripes and a patty lunch did us in. We were tired. Exciting right? Nap time it was, especially since it was raining at this point. Woke up as the skies cleared and went to visit Mama again. We didn't feel like walking far and sunset was approaching. Chicken on the menu tonight. And was it delicious! As we were eating, the power went out. Finished dinner by candlelight and headed home. Mama and SharkHunter's dance postponed. Back home and a visit with K Man, another fun night on the patio as we all waited for the current to be restored. Mosquitos finally started up. We hadn't really had a problem before but had the coils on standby already. Lit one up and enjoyed some relief. A while later we wrapped up the visit with K Man, told him good night, and then had ourselves a night cap. Cherry juice and coconut rum over ice. When writing it all down, it doesn't seem like much of a day but it was really quite perfect. Just what the doctor ordered.

Well said. I always bring a book or two, make it through a chapter or maybe just half of one. Then I lay the book open and face down across my chest and there it sits the rest of the day. This time I think Ive chosen the perfect book to bring along. A compilation of short stories, all about travel. A very interesting and enlightening read. Some stories are deep and meaningful, others humorous accounts of adventures gone wrong, all engaging and just short enough to complete before my eyes wander to the serene blue sky overhead or the hummingbird perched on the flower or the palm swaying in the breeze. SharkHunter has been subdued by Benadryl. Never had allergy problems here before but I think he's down for the count today. A great day for reading and gazing. Maybe a dip in the pool later. Venture out at sunset for a meal. I can't think of a better way to spend the day. I am perfectly happy. It doesn't get better than this. Name: image.jpg

Glad to hear it Yetta! What the past day or two lacked in adventure, it made up for in peace and that is just what we all need sometimes.
