    Anyone been to Nirvava?

Hello everyone! New as member. I found this site last week and haven't been able to stop. Started at front and read posts back to page 80 already. Lol. I have been in Jamaica several times but this will b first with my kids ( 2 girls 6 and 9 ). We want a secure cottage with a nice beach. Nirvana intrigued me as it looks clean, has security at beach and is fenced for the kiddies. Any insites would b helpful. Coming for 10 days in November.
P.S. Some great posts and banter on here. I'm hooked already

Welcome to the board, I'd love to know the story behind your screen-name

I can't offer any good advice, because I'm not as familiar with beach properties as some here....but no doubt they will come along with some great input.

I'm with Tizz, your screen name has me intrigued! I can't offer traveling with kids advice, as I don't have any. I'm sure others will chime in. I have heard that Nirvana books up early, so you might want to inquire as to what is actually available. From other's comments, Crystal Waters Villas seems family friendly.

We stayed at CocoLaPalm last year and there were kids around who seemed pretty content. Not cottages, but the junior suites are huge! They have big discounts on their rooms available in low season. You might want to check out Negril One Stop (http://www.negrilonestop.com/) - we got a great deal through them. They also have great real photos of all the properties they book.

We are regulars at Nirvana. It is kid friendly, with lots of beach toys, baby sitting service, daily cook service for cottages.
Big beach, lots of space, lots of shade, great staff. No gift shop, or restaurant, or bar, not that you need any of that when you can walk left or right, beach side or roadside, and get everything you need. Am I right?

Thanks Tizzy, Cherry and Lady Jane! Any help would be apprediated. As for the screen name, When i was 21 I went to Negril solo for a few weeks. After the first week i called my folks and said " I'm staying!" LOL One year and lots of twists and turns later I was arrested for immigration, marched through airport in cuffs and flown back to Canada. It is a great story but will take time to tell. It involves bribing my way out of the Iron Shores police station and paying a monthly fee set by a few officers to stay. Luck ran out six months later when seeing friends off at the airport. I will tell it in a 20year old trip report soon, I promise.

    Once,

You should read the late Mark Conklin's Banana Shout novel. He arrived here about the same age - the story, while being somewhat fiction, is all based on his real life stories!

    Thanks for posting man!

here's the link for a video I did back a little while ago.
I LOVED Nirvana with my kids...(age 6&9 at the time)
i think after we've travelled to Negril over the past couple years...something not to forget about is the shade (like Lady Jane mentioned) Nirvana's property is perfect for kids...and the cottages are nice a big, and security guards were great too!
My boys loved Nirvana and said it was better then Disney!!

It was something I wished I could of had before we picked our cottage...We've been to Jamaica 6 times in the last 2 and a half years....been on the beach and the west end. Nirvana isn't the cheapest but if we take our kids back again that is the place I'd go again without hesitation. We loved the fresh orange juice that was made for us every morning...we purchased a huge bag or oranges the day we arrive!
