Cool Asked 100 times here, but once more.....

Hi my name is HillCityGurl, and I am a lurkeaholic! And I need help from all you great boardies that are lucky enough to travel to Negril often and have loads of advice to give!!

Middle of March 2014 are our travel dates. Looking for a split stay between cliffs and beach. 5 on cliffs and 4 on beach I think...
Cliffs: Safe/secure/clean, Water view & access (love to swim in the sea), bfast included be nice, not necessary, but a fridge/some limited kitchen would be a requirement. On a budget; isn't everyone??? We have finally achieved home loan modification, with payment going up! (what happened Obama? but at least we still have our home) So money is an issue, but we are bound and determined to return to Negril for our 25th wedding anniversary...this has been about 8 years coming!!

Any suggestions on places and rooms to request would be much appreciated....

Last year we did a split trip, normally we stay on the beach. We did 4 nights at White Sands on the beach, very nice, had a small fridge in the room. Rooms were clean and quiet. We did 4 nights at Sunset on the Cliffs, we had to pay extra for the fridge but it was worth it. Had Sea view rooms, saw dolphins every day. I am not a swimmer, so was not able to enjoy the water in the cliffs. Breakfast was included at Sunset. Very peaceful and quiet. When I booked I went thru hotels.com and got a very reasonable rate. Booked them separately from airfare. Goodluck, I am wanting to return next year, but we always book at the last minute.

Do yourself a favor - go to www.negrilonestop.com and check out all of the hotels they've partnered with on the cliffs & beach.
This site has location/description of room/amenities included.
LOTS of options to choose from and if you book through them, you get a discount at some properties.
You'll get TONS of recommendations here, though!

In regards to the beach, Coca LaPalm offers some great specials and is quite kid friendly...as well as a great location. For the cliff, I recommend Catcha Falling Star Gardens. For the price...it can't be beat. No, you are not on the water but if you get the front upstairs room...you can see the water! It is right across from LTU which is a great place to eat and a view that is one of the best. It is well enclosed for kids and the pool is truly lovely.

Ricks is not far away and the entrance to the sea is quite easy there. If you go in the early afternoon, it is not crowded and you could snorkel, swim and then grab a drink or a snack as your way of re-paying them for the courtesy. You can also enter the sea at LTU, but it is a bit more difficult maneuvering the long ladder there.

Obviously, there are many places to choose from....but as most of us who do travel there...$$$$ IS an issue. It can be done reasonably with some research. Whatever you choose...have a great time!

Cant help much on beach locations, but give the Blue Cave Castle a shot. You want water view and access... well get the lower tower room sometimes you have to close the wooden blinds to stop the water from spraying in your room- its quite a unique experience. No breakfast, but coffee is always served early and Peewees next door opens early for some eats. The place rocks has a great restaurant and awesome vibe... and its like 50 beans a night. Good luck and happy anniversary!

mi concur on Blue Cave Castle...wonderful vibe...great staff...awesome food...excellent snorkeling.....
the Lower Tower Room is mi favorite der......not just because of price either.....$50/night
the direct beachfront is the high rent district so do your research........
so check out places like Fun Holiday, Caribbean Delight and White Sands for best buy deals......
Fun Holiday pops up pretty cheap on a lot of the travel sites......
you can stay on the road side....and then just cross the road....price wise more choices than the beach
