I just checked a return ticket from MoBay for next winter and the Jamaican tax total is $52.72 per ticket..... Ridiculous!

The taxes seem to be the same for most destinations...not sure how Jamaica is pricing themselves out of the market?!

The items mentioned are included in the ticket cost - Fatfish posted the breakdown of the Jamaican taxes and fees. The above Jamaican charges are just like the USA Departure and Arrival taxes (currently $26.80) , the US PFC (Passenger Facilities Charges - $4.50), the US Federal Security Segment Tax ($5.00) and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Fee ($3.10) as well as any associated airport and security fees - here is the link:

Have you ever seen the taxes on a flight out of Toronto, I just got fllights for $399 and the taxes are $311.16!
Its part of the price you pay for your week in paradise. Jamaica does spend a lot of public funds on Tourist infrastructure. Doesn't seem that high to me, but just one guys view....
And it seems like my info was outdated, the current departure/arrival taxes for the USA is $16.30 each, or $32.60, not $26.80 as I stated...
