    Many scenes from Papillon were filmed in Jamaica and the townspeople from Seaford Town were used as extras. The preacher in the movie was the Parish Priest at Seaford Town.

    Rumor had it that this scene below was filmed on the cliffs in the West End of Negril although I have never seen the rock outcropping shown in the scene it does look like the same type rock found there. Does it look familiar to anybody???

    if I am not mistaken I read where that scene was filmed in Hawaii....I think?

    Rambo,

    I think you are right as I know that was another location that they used. Mortimer Johnson told me in the late seventies that they filmed it in Negril but it looks much higher and as I said that rock formation is pretty distinctive.
