Hello boardies, I was wondering if anyone knows what is going on at the Beach Club. I know they were having issues there with the timeshare side of the place. Have a room booked for Feb. and would like to pay in advance a little at a time but a little nervous to do this. Any word would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you are booked through Jean...NO PROBLEM...known the lady for many years, stayed there many years through her.....Your dealin with one of the most honest people I know there..if ya can remember tell her

Don't know what has happened at the NBC over the years but at one time it was one of the few "Hotels" on Negril Beach. Pretty nice property with a great beach front.

this will be our 5th time there, never had a problem and always through Jean. We know there is issues with the timeshare side. I talked to Jean when we booked a few months back and she told me they were waiting to go to court. I have heard nothing since. Always have a good time there and always feel safe. Just hope their problems get resolved. All I know Rambo is that place helps me keep my sanity.

PS...One year I overpaid Jean 100.00 US.........
we never would have caught it...
2 weeks after our return we got 100.us check in the mail from her......
I sent her 1/2 back with a thank you..................
Boy we got a nice 2 room suite next time......

I stayed there 6 times--but that was between 2006 and 2009. I always booked with Jean and had a great experience--big rooms and the added bonus of a kitchenette walking distance from HiLO for groceries I only ate out once a day if that. The one time I was given a room that smelled funky--after Jean checked it out she changed me to a room without the stink factor and was gracious about it. Great beach front. BUT-- the last time I went I mistakenly booked Mariners through one of those too-good--to be true deals on Orbitz thinking I would have the same experience as at Negril Beach Club Condos--I mean, they are the same property. This was about 2 years ago. There were so many issues--huge roaches in the kitchen--they brought me a can of bug spray to kill them. The place was dirty after housekeeping came. As dirty as before they came and one time more dirty--she cooked a meal in there and left hunks of food on the stove. There was an enterprising young rastatute staying in the unit below me. He continually hit on me despite my telling him no and one time went so far as to come with a lady from the states knocking on my door and asking me to come for dinner with them (I think he though that having a girl with him might up my comfort zone). Not sure how these guys have a unit there--there are two of them and they show up weekends and ply their trade. I had a similar encounter with the kid when I was there on Jean's side. So sad to say it despite my many good stays there-- the Mariners experience totally left a bad taste in my mouth for the property. I would still think if you went with Jean you would be ok.
That is what Jean told us about the place too. Don't quote me, but I remember her mentioning that a doctor from the Cincinnati area started building with those intentions but the rest is history.Originally Posted by Rambo
