    Trip report 8/9-8/23

    8/9
Flew Spirit out of Ft Lauderdale, pretty much on time for a change. Never saw customs so busy it took over a hour to get to customs desk. Clives was there to take me to Barrys, stopped at Biggas in Green Island i had jerk pork, and took a to go jerk chicken for Marsha. To me his jerk sauce is the best.
Barrys has made some improvements nice new bar. Great seeing Budda and Jennifer Barrys long time employees. Unfortunately Budda told me that Sean was killed in a car crash this spring. Marsha arrived shortly. We went to Value Master for supplies for the frig. Early to bed.
    8/10
Marsha and I always take a long walk to Hedo and back, today was the day saw a lot of old friends. We ran into rain on the way back stopped for cover a few times. Always my favorite day.
That night we went to Sea Star. Talked a little to Rob,and CaptainD. The show was great Stephen West then a new guy forgot is name, then a girl, Crystal, she was great , then the drummers and dancers. Food and service was excellent. $20 a piece with pickup and return to the beach can't be beat.
Back at Barrys there was a party going on at Cayenne Beach, new name between T-water and Coco Int., very loud went on to 2 or 3 I like music so it was ok
    8/11
Every other day I run the beach from Barrys to Treehouse, or do sprints on Cayenne Beach I am a tennis pro so I try to stay in shape. The past couple of years I have hung out on the beach at Enjoy the Vibes, but this year no music,so I spent more time at Bar b Bar on beach.Afternoon rain.
Dinner at Seafood on the Road in front of Barry. Great food, cheap,I had curried goat, Marsha stew beef.
    8/12
Beach swim. Dinner Bar b Barn I had curried goat again[Seafood on Rd] was better and half the price, Marsha had oxtail. Went to a show at Roots
Bamboo it was terrific and free a lot of people.
    8/13
normal morning, earlier rain. Dinner at 3-Dives Paula is Marshas sister.Jerk
chicken for me lobster for Marsha. Talked to Rob.
    8/14
A lot of Jamaican girls don't swim But Marsha always been a Tomboy,so we swam a lot raced a lot I always won. No rain. Dinner at Coconut Int. we both had curried snapper.
    8/15
usual day, dinner at Seafood on Road, curried couch for me , parot fish Marsha.Went to Bourbon Beach that night.
    8/16
Found a new place to hang on beach Daros One Love, its next to Enjoy the Vibes, played good music. The river came down the beach totally changed the water color, I have seen it happen before but never that much. I ate at 3-Stars on one-mile, Marsha got Ital from Carls 2 doors south of Seafood on Rd.
    8/17
sprints on Cayenne, earlier rain. Went to Sea Star again. Stephen West did a short set. Then Crystal did a long great set, then drummers and dancers, then Crystal did a dancehall set. She is fantastic.. Got back to Barrys more load music from Cayenne Beach.
    8/18
no rain very hot, dinner at Seafood on Rd, i had curried goat, Marsha oxtail
    8/19
normal day, dinner at Angelas at Bar b Barn.we both had penne arribiata
    8/20
normal day Dinner at Seafood on Rd both had curried chicken
    8/21
went out to Mango Hall, dinner at Canoe we both had fish was terrific
    8/22
Went to Marshas house in Silver Spring, walked down to see Scot at Discovery Falls, while he was in U S someone burned down his three building, he was working hard to get things going again.
I like going to the country because you are not begged but on my walk someone hollared for $50, I replied I'm not on the beach. Marsha made a fire and cooked pumkin soup with chicken, yam, carrots good and filling.
    8/12
Clives there at 12 to take me to airport, said my goodbyes, looking forward
    for 2 weeks early Dec.

    Observations:
All music venues on the beach have much louder speakers. Bourbon Beach sounded like it was in the room it was never that loud. Never could hear music from Roots Bamboo in the room till this trip. On Saturdays Cayenne Beach on one side Bourbon Beach on the other made it tough.

South end of beach was dead, at the most saw one or two people on the beach at the Beach Club.

Summer more Italians, some beautiful girls.

The seagrapes were not as ripe,as previous August trips, but ginups were
    many.

    Mango Hall? where is that?

I was at Seastar that saturday night, was sitting talking to Rob, for a while.

Does Scott ever get a break? Maybe that was why I didnt see him this august trip.

Yes I talked to you that night at Sea Star. Mango Hall is right before you get to Little London
    from Negril.

Could you share more info about Seafood on the road? Do they have regular menu or just special of the day?
A picture would be nice if you have.

Anytime someone eats at one place that many times will catch my attention.

    Thanks for posting.

Don't know how to post pictures. Menu changes, usually about four things on menu,
and maybe no seafood. The curried dishes are very good, conch, chicken or goat. As
well as whole fish, parot fish when I was there.

Will Discovery Falls be open by November? Scott seemed like one of the most genuine people I have ever met. I hope he is doing well.
