And the crap I made this weekend was NOT a substitute. Tried it on the grill, it was rubbish. Bought some frozen patties from the supermarket, they were not terrible, but certainly not great.
Stopped in a little jamaican place this afternoon...it's in west Philly, they were serving cheesesteaks, really? They had oxtail soup on the menu, but I am not really a fan of that dish, did get a decent chicken patty, but is suspect it was the frozen kind as well.
Only a few more weeks. One would think after all the trips I would have some inkling of how to prepare a few of the dishes I like, but it always comes out poorly. Maybe this year I can find a nice local person to teach me to cook in a day... And then I will promptly sprout wings and fly about the west endI bought a half dozen bottles of jerk sauce from Francine last year, it is delicious on eggs, but I've ruined everything else I tried to make with it.
