    Negril to Treasure Beach

I am coming back to Negril January 29th for five weeks. We stay at Seastar Inn.This trip my wife and I are looking at heading up to Treasure Beach for a few days.I am looking for recommendations on safe, clean, quiet places on the beach to stay at.Looking in the $100-$150 a night range. So if you have been there and know of a place to relax at,all suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Stuart Love

We've stayed twice at sunset beach resort and they are good people and right on the water AND has a pool. They have an extensive website so you can check it out. They are prompt at answering inquiries. It's a super location...Jakes's is essentially next door with Jack Sprats just another three minutes. The spa at Jakes is a great place to get treatments.

my sunset experience was not that great. besides the pool and the view, the rest is pretty desolate . . . ugly grounds . . . we were there over new year's eve . . . a lot of food was leftover and seemed to be served next day . . . each to their own tastes . . . treasure beach has a lot of properties worth checking out, this one i'd pass again.

My wife and I stayed at Sunset in 2005. We loved it. But, we didn't do much at the resort itself....other than eat several great lobster dinners next to the pool. We went on several day trips from there, and over to a beach area nearby. Kory South and his staff were super! Jakes gets all of the hype, but they are very pricey. So, with Sunset you are right next door to Jakes and not far from Jack Sprats.

Back then a lot of the beaches had been eroded from the storms....it should be better now. But there was a nice beach down the road.

Check out treasurebeach.net. Great site with a map and a forum for asking questions. We hired a great, safe older Rasta named Ranni as our driver. He took us on several day trips and to the airport.

If you have any questions, pm me.

We stayed at Treasure Beach Hotel for $75 per night through negrilonestop. However that is before December 20th when rates tend to go up. Not sure what the rates are in January. The hotel was clean with TV and A\C. The grounds are fantastic and they have 2 well maintained pools with a great view overlooking the beach.

This place looks nice. Sorry, I've never stayed there BUT there are several very nice reviews on TripAdvisor.
