Re: info please... Sunset on the Beach Resort
We haven't stayed at the beach property, but we have stayed at their sister property on the cliffs. The staff mix around hotels. It's friendly and fun. My only reason for not wanting to stay at the beach is that there is no pool. But the staff are friendly and professional. The place is dated, but clean. Don't know about the rooms on the beach, but they are big on the cliffs. The beach property has a lovely beach area, with lots shade and a nice resto and bar outside. Millicent, Davia and Stacey rock! There is a shuttle between the 2, as well. We have made good friends with the staff and look forward to seeing them all again soon.

Re: info please... Sunset on the Beach Resort
utdated, large rooms with broken air conditioners, windows and last year the beach was filled with seaweed the week we visited. Be prepared for a change in rooms as the owner will overbook and not promise what you may ask for. She apparently doesn't understand the term"reservations" The workers are all very nice, but many do not look happy. The area is a nice area to get some beach time with the availability to take the shuttle to thesister property, which was our favorite. We have now moved on due to difference with the owner after 6 years of dedicated return trips with many newbies.

Re: info please... Sunset on the Beach Resort
Thank you both for your replies and info. TA offers such a mixed bag of reviews, so I thought I'd seek info from this board. The fact that there have only been two responses from the negril.com community is a little bothersome by itself. (hmmm, really? nothing? no one's stayed here?
)
Anyway, jan24, I'm sorry to hear of the problems you experienced. Seaweed happens, but the other issues are difficult to overlook as they are items that are within ownership control...
Thanks again for the input. - k

Re: info please... Sunset on the Beach Resort
We used to stay there when it was Coral Seas Beach. Have not stayed since the new ownership. I have heard mostly negative comments.
