Recent Beach Club Condo Stays?

So we have been yearly visitors to NBCC for a while now, (always booking through Jean) but our last few visits have raised some concerns. Little to no security, property looking run down, unhappy staff etc. I know there have been issues with the man who bought the time share and hotel side of things. What we really want to know is any recent first hand information - has anybody stayed there in the last year, and if so, how were things? We hate to have to find another home away from home, but also want to feel safe and have the basic amenities ...

On the same note - we have been sending out some feelers for reasonably priced rooms with kitchen facilities on the beach. Would love any boardie recommendations for the same!

Same old, same old at the Beach Club (was there in June & July). Beach security & other staff should be there for high season. Great property. Too bad such a scumbag was allowed to come in & ruin a good thing. Word is all should be settled soon. Of course, I've heard that for a while now. Some things have been "fixed" but until Ofer is gone, the Beach Club is not what it was. I look forward to it's return to being a great property again.

Yvonne, Wondering if the hot tub is hot and functional. Staying there in about 10 days, I will post my experience and let everyone know. I've also heard transition is in the works.

Hot tub drained & not working in July. No $$$ to fix. The problem seems to be palm tree seeds getting into the pump, drain, etc. (probably other issues, too). I can relate as palm tree seeds fall on the sidewalk outside my house & in/on my patio regularly. They're a real PIA. The hot tub needs to have a raised cover over it... think art show displays & probably other uses I've yet to see (fruit stands, food vendors??). That'd protect it from the seeds. Then, of course, the pump would need to be replaced. Being treasurer of my condo community we can let a few items go unrepaired or not replaced until we have the funds so I understand their dilemma. Our hot tub is NOT one of those items, however. Fees coming in at the Beach Club are going to pay for electric & water. Hopefully when the owed $$$ is collected the necessary repairs will be made. Sorry to not have better news. Since most of the staff has been on a layoff for months, I doubt they've been able to repair the hot tub.

Too Bad, really....that for a long time was one of the best deals on the beach...those who got into staying with Jean in the early years established "their" own rate....and as the years went by, it became even more of a better deal.......
But when you look around you see more and more signs of the larger places "gobbling" up so many of the tourist dollars.... then the smaller places must do with less and less, to save money...unfortunately it is only a means to a end, as it then makes what customers they do get, feel like they are getting less then they are used to.......
we loved it for so many years...Errolls was at one time one of the hottest places on the beach to be..at times you would have 3 or 4 "moving bands" stop along that area...and before you know it, it would be going on Midnight,and you dont know where the day WENT????.....lol

Going to be arriving there in 31 days. Jean assured me I would have no worries in my unit. When I was last there in April I noticed much of what was commented on here recently but that has been the norm for over the last year now since Offer has been in. Pool and Hot Tub broken, security pretty non existent staff was at an alarming low rate. Much much beach riff raff and working girls and guys on property at night. Aside from a few years ago one of the rasta bellman thinking I had the hots for him and entering my room via a key without permission i have not had any problems with booking direct through Jean. For the value for now this is still my place to go if it is just me traveling, all I do is sleep onsite and it works for me.

I was there with my wife last December for a week and am returning this year for same 1st week in December. Everything on the NBCC side was all right and Jean & Deandra & Turlian are always on top of any issuies that arise . It is the Mariners side that was hurting back then with JPS shutting the power off for unpaid bills. This Ofer character better fish or cut bait or else the alleged asset will become a liability for him.

Mo- It really sounds worse than it is but yes if I haden't had 50-60 good nights there before this it would have me also. There was a young man they called Rasta working as a bellhop and I am a very friendly girl. I had seen him over multiple visits, he had assisted me back to my room after irresponsible choices hindered my walking abilities and on one stay when I had just arrived I gave him a hug downstairs and went up to my room. A few minutes later while unpacking I heard my door opening and he walked in with a flower and a bottle of rum. It was only uncomfortable for a second when he explained he thought I liked him that way and I wanted that as many women who stay there are looking. I apologized for false signals he apologized and we have since had beer on the patio while watching the women bringing back their local boys to the condos.
Unfortunately as has been discussed until blue in the face on here and other boards a lot of women do go there looking for that and that does present some of these scenarios occurring for those of us that do not. I have since became much bolder and start my hugs with the statement "mi nah want no bamboo" LOL and we all laugh it off and it doesnt happen as often.
I do enjoy BCC, I am not a cooker but I get a full apartment sized condo with a bedroom with 2 bed's large bath large living room, dining room and kitchen and usually pay around $80-85 a night to be right downtown on beach walking distance to everything.
