    old Yacht Club site ...

The old Negril Yacht Club, understood it was vacant/falling apart. Is it anything new yet? Think it'll be rebuilt or just torn down? Was always a great location.

    And even better hotel/bar!

Yes, vacant & falling apart...daily! I would hope anyone that takes over the land would tear the building down & start from scratch!

there was the "Wharf" and there was the "Negril Yacht Club".........now their both memories..............
and mi never did see where the "Yacht" came into play...........
cause Negril is certainly not known for Yachts....unless you call those Glass Bottom Boats Yachts.....lol

I remember thinking the same thing when they built the place Marko. As the Wharf club was already in existance (1975) when they built it, calling it the Yacht club kinda made sense. Also the first Negril Market evolved there, in front of the place.

I remember walking by and thinking that it was some kind of club for rich people. They had one of those big satalite dishes and was the only television that I saw (through the window) in Negril at the time. Exchange rate was 1.75 J to 1 US. If you had a hundred dollar bill you could get 2-1. We were staying at Richard and Doris Malcolm's Blue Moon Cottages for I think $15/night. We hung out at Rick''s, Xtabi and Sammy Jackson's on the cliffs. Johnno Johnson was our spirit guide and protector. Our needs were simple, and our fun was max.

    Respect,
