Those pictures are amazing. What a contrast..the country road scenes and the resort setting...silver tea and coffee service! It must have been a true adventure in those days compared to the kind of trip most of us take now!

The remarkable thing about these wonderful photos is that much of Jamaica of today is recognizable. The boat with the roof covering could be on any beach in 2013; the resort constructions are little changed; the cement sidewalks, the beach scene; still looking like our Jamaica today.
Of course things were more formal in those days both in Babylon and Jamaica.
I agree w big frank , that style boat can be seen many times over on the beach.
Roots, I would love to know the background as to how and why your parents chose JA and how long to travel. Your pictures make me curious and wanting to see more. Thank you for sharing

The finer places in MoBay, in the 80's looked right out of a "James Bond" movie...all who had it,wore formal wear for dinner..........and yes the table-food-service, all rated 5 Stars !!!

Roots.....I love the old photos..Hope you dont mind, but I "restored one I'm using as a "screen saver", I used filters to mimic the photo processing of the 60's...........
