Feeling Inspired
After reading all of y'alls trip reports, I decided to cancel my stay at Grand Pineapple and do an Non AI! I'm leaning towards Sea Wind(the beach house) as of now. Any other suggestions? I am traveling by myself in November, have a budget of about 130-175 a night for a room, the location must have AC, prefer beach, but the cliffs is fine as long as it has a view and a balcony/patio. Thanks!
Look at Banana Shout or Catcha on the cliffs. Also, it depends when in November when you are going as what will be available. Also, not all places allow locals on property, something to consider if you plan on having someone over.Originally Posted by kwanzaj

Thanks. I am going the beginning of nov. I have no plans to have anyone over, just party by myself (lol), so that's not an issue. I liked Cintronella because of the snorkeling(I plan on snorkeling at least 3-4 times) but they don't have AC. Idle While would have been perfect (view, rooms, balcony/patio with a nice sitting area) but they were booked. My plans are to lay out on the beach, snorkeling and go out (Jungle, Alfred's, etc) at night. Food & Bar onsite. No preference as to family or singles on site.

Does Banana Shout have AC?
I'm staying solo at Le Mirage (first time on the cliffs!) for a few nights in November before moving to the beach. The rooms look nice with AC, fridge, coffee pot and all have sea views with balconies. Small hotel. Newer infinity pool. Cont breakfast included. They don't have a bar or restaurant on site, but good ones right across the street. And you can go to their sister property on the beach, Charela. Or, if Charela is in your budget, you could stay there and go to Mirage to snorkel. I expect it will be quiet at Mirage, but looking forward to experiencing the cliffs a bit more and the price is right. After 3 nights there, I'll move to the beach for 6 (Coco, got a great deal on booking.com - good room amenities, beach, and a social place, larger, 80 rooms).
Catcha Falling Star has rooms starting at $95/night and has a great restaurant and bar. Would be much more social than Le Mirage. I'm looking to relax and soak up the sea views, and have been around a bit so don't mind walking/taxi...and have a limited budget, so Mirage ($80/night) has mostly what I'm looking for, for a few nights.
Sea Wind is a bit removed from the parties, aka, Alfred's/Jungle. Have heard there are a lot of French Canadian guests there. My fave on the beach is Country Country, a bit closer to the parties (singles get $30 off the room rate, and there's decent specials on Negrilonestop or check Trivago). CC's bar is quiet though. Rondel & Rooms come to mind as places to stay closer to Alfred's. Lots of places, depends on your preference for location and what you like in a room/vibe.

Seawind would be a great choice! We enjoyed staying at Seawind and love that quiet section of the beach. Stayed in a junior suite, which was huge. Next time would like to try a beach front cottage. The food at Shareta's restaurant was consistently good. And we met some very nice (and fun) French Canadians. Also like staying at Charela Inn and CocoLaPalm. Someone else mentioned Country Country, which would be a great choice too, and is on my bucket list.
single girl with that budget you can pick just about any place....mi would go with the beach
personally mi would go with Bar B Barn.... right in the middle of the action on the beach
rooms are clean and great.......A/C is a given there.......food is excellent
Sunrise Italian Pizza across the street as is Cafe Goa and Times Square......
Bourbon Beach is next door......and therei is a Cambio right out by the road at Bourbon Beach
Alfreds and Roots Bamboo aren't far......Jungle too
and the best part........under $100/night........yah mon
