If you declare them, I would think, yes. If you don't declare them, they could find them if they happen to search your bags. If they're not in store boxes with all tags/stuffing removed, laced up etc you could say they are used. Even wear them around the house/yard to get some dust/slight scuff on the treads. I think customs concern is that you'd be bringing them in (new) to sell them. You could say they belonged to a relative/friend who doesn't wear them so you brought them along to give away....a lot of people buy shoes and never wear them or only once or twice if they're not comfortable.

I'm no expert, but those are my thoughts.

I am going to go with no.

Technically, you should declare them, as you are bringing something in which will be left behind. Scuffing them up, etc as melody said is still skirting the law... That said, I highly doubt that even did you decide to declare them on your customs form that anyone is going to say a word. It's not like you are bringing a shipping container of shoes into the country for profit. It would cost more in effort for the customs officer to get your paperwork done for the duty of three pair of shoes then the duty itself would justify.

yes I would agree....the person looking at them might not want to pursue the fact that you might wear them..that would be too personal...lol

Good question & yes, you may be charged.
I know a woman that was charged for bringing in one pair of men's shoes...I would imagine they would be just as tolerant with several pairs.
