Re: Beef?
I don't do beef very often. More of a Sunday dinner kind of thing, a nice NY strip. Husband does seafood wherever he goes, so he does the same in Negril. Hamburgers are a summer holiday picnic food and I wouldn't order one on vacation, for sure. We did the all inclusive at Charela Inn on our last trip and they had beef tenderloin in a mushroom sauce that was spectacular. There was always too much food at any meal while there but I finished a very generous portion of the beef, completed by using the bread for the sauce! We usually ordered two different entrees each night but the tenderloin night we both had it and both more than enjoyed it. I think that probably was the only beef we have had in Jamaica, besides a patty. We don't do pizza or Italian/pasta in Negril, either. We love jerk, curry, stew, thermidor, rundown. Can be chicken, seafood, goat or ox. Its all good. And we love all the soups and salads! In all our trips to Jamaica we have never had a bad meal, in all honesty. Lucky, I guess.
