    Cool Fields of Dreams

Any info on the kind of, cost of, and risk of, a trip to a " Farmers" crop, if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance Lacdeloo

There have been some recent articles on the subject.

I guess the key take-away is that it's still illegal. I see people getting busted almost every trip.

Well, maybe not always busted but definitely hassled by the cops. On our last trip, I did see a Jamaican man get arrested by that church at the beginning of the West End Rd. (He probably didn't have enough money to pay the "fine".) The trip before that, the car in front of us (driven by a Jamaican guy with a few tourists as passengers) was stopped by a police roadblock, just outside YS Falls. The driver threw a sub out the window just before he was pulled over. They probably got away with it, but they were still hassled by the cops. I see roadblocks all the time, on the roads outside of Negril.

Yep. The good ole Southwest Detectives Division. Not a place you want to spend any time.

I dunno why people even try to bring anything back, too much technology these days and they still have the good old doggies waiting at the airport.

for a trip, ask someone you trust about it....it may take a few days to set it up....you want to go by yourselves, no groups..........do not give anybody any money before unless they want to buy gas on the way....
wear loose comfortable and cool hiking wear..NO BRIGHT COLORS...Earth-tones best......(I wore a yellow tank top)...took it off quickly because of the 95 degree 90% humidity "hike".....you will sleep that night !!
whatever you agree on for the price, make sure it includes a "bud of your choice"....lol.............
your only risk is that bud, as a tourist you can say we just were on a Hike....be sure and bring your camera,

remember you are along on a somewhat illegal destination
if you take photo of you doing anything illegal...its gonna be tough to "chat" your way out...lol
I took a small memory card and changed it out for a fresh one after "site shots".......its fun it will be at least 4hr trip............
