I said screw it and booked elsewhere. If they really cared for my business they would have stayed in touch with me. I know that the runnings are different in JA, but I shouldn't have to track down people to see if I still have a place to stay. I really like to keep the monies that I spend local, but if an owner of a property is from somewhere else that makes sure I have a place to stay, I have to go with it. At least I will still be able to spend my money on plenty of other local businesses, in hopes of keeping them around for the long haul.
Side Note: I still haven't given up on Sunquest/Wild Parrot/Yet to be named? for future reaches as I really like that property, but they will not get my business this year.
