Re: What do you do at the airport prior to departure?
I can see using the service upon arrival to be able to save some time and get on your way to Negril. Heck we have flown in a day ahead and stayed in MoBay, but find the park/stay/fly out of Philly to be the best deal! We have waited an excruciatingly long amount of time arriving on a Sat. Unfortunately United only flies on Sat and Sunday out of Newark. This year we flew out of Philly on US Air on a Weds and it was not a problem. Don't really know why you would spend the money on exit. We just kill time walking around, purchasing some last minute things and grabbing something to eat. Who cares what it is. We have gone to Jimmy Buffets place, Cool Runnings and this year we just grabbed a patty. We have just spent a wonderful week on a wonderful island having fabulous food. But with how things are anymore with flying you don't even get your bag of peanuts....so sometimes you need to fortify. This last trip we were shopping and hanging at the new food court like spot in the airport having a patty and headed to the gate when we learned they had been calling us for a while that we had been upgraded to first class. So we did not need that airport patty anyway.... My husband travels extensively for work so we have access to lounges where United have one. The ones in the US are nothing great, the ones in Europe are fab. Getting in a plane is the means to get where you want to go. It is no longer part of the travel. More a hassle and worse than the proverbial family car trip. We find that the stuff at the airport is not such a bad price. At this point with our trips, we like to get spices, sauces, etc. for our loved ones at home so shopping at the airport works for us. We are always sorry to have to leave. But we know that no matter what, we will some how manage to get to Jamaica again in the next year. It is just what we do.
