Red face 16 Days in Paradise

is over tomorrow. I really wanted to do a trip report every day but man, we were so busy and/or so laid back it was hard.

But I will once I'm back home, along with pictures.

We loved Negril (again), we loved the RIU Palace Tropical Bay, we loved seeing our Rastafarian friend again (after 15 years) and I predict we'll be back in 2 years (Grenada next year for our 20th anniversary).

Looking forward to it! When in Negril...I overstand the feeling! It's hard to take time to write when you are living it. I have occasionally written notes in the late evening which I found rather cathartic. Enjoy the moment while your soaking up your last day and when you feel the urge...post away. I am needing all the reports I can get.....vacation time is right around the bend for me.

Yes time does fly while in Jamaica but it's soooooo slow after you pick your hotel and book your flights 6 months ahead of time. I think I read every review on the hotel we picked, I read all the forums that I could find and learned so much about Negril and the surrounding areas.

This was our second trip to Negril, our daughter's first. We were here 15 years ago and our made in Jamaica daughter Kira Irie came with us this trip and I think it was everything that she expected and more. We made friends with a Rastafarian while here the first time and we tried to keep in touch all those years. We did lose contact about 7 years ago which we were sad about but with the help of some boardies and some fabulous people at The Charela Inn, we re-connected before we arrived. He was thrilled to hear from us again and we spent lots of time with him on this trip.

October took forever to appear on the calendar. Then we started to get pumped. Started the packing box in July and it slowly filled up with things to take, things to give away, things to use. And we did leave some things because we had way too much. Pack once, remove half, pack again. Still had to take two bags (we had lots of school supplies and things for children).

The journey begins, but another day. Stay tuned.
