Kuyaba ???

Have eaten at Kuyaba and seen the grounds and the rooms seem nice and it is not too expensive. But I don't hear a buzz about the place and wonder why. Is there something I don't see? Looking for a hotel in Feb. on the beach. Any comments/advice appreciated...Dash

kuyaba for me has no vibe. stayed there. the bar is good, but you don't often see ppl hanging out there . . . don't know, just no vibe. . . . the grounds are really well designed and kept for a small place . . . the noise from bourbon is disturbing, so get a room on the main floor. less noisy.

Kuyaba isnt really a spot to hang out at. Its very quiet and well kept. I enjoyed my time there and wasnt bothered once. Its a perfect spot for dinner or to have drinks.

Stayed at Kuyaba our first 2 trips to Negril. Loved it! The rooms were great for the price and clean. The restaurant is fantastic. Never really hung at the bar as there were other places to walk to that were cheaper. Where the location is great during the day, we didn't like the fact that the location is right between Bourbon Beach and Alfred's. The music goes 'til 2AM 3 to 4 nights a week and if your looking to sleep without being totally wasted your out of luck. The other thing I didn't like was coming home with sand flea bites. Probably just a beach thing versus a Kuyaba thing but I'll take the West End

Have eaten at Kuyaba every trip for 14 years. Almost always excellent. Stayed there once but it was just ok. The little touches that make the restaurant so good were missing on the hotel side so we were a little disappointed. Oh yeah, and the damn parrots were loud and annoying.

The only credit I can give is for the atmosphere.Nice place to have dinner but we had far better meals at places where we paid 1/3 the price. They need to step up their game as their reputation is slipping.

Dash Half our wedding party stayed there last feb and the rooms are nice for the price but if you like to sleep before 2am it is really loud because of the music next door.

Had dinner there last year, maybe it was just what we ordered (less expensive items), found it ok. The dinners we had at Country Country were much better. May try it again sometime to try specific dishes I've read people rave about.

I like Kuyaba for a drink but sorry,if I stayed there the beach crowd next door(Legends I think) would bother me.All the chairs are nut 2 butt,like in Europe.

Thanks all! Not a lot of choice for Feb at decent prices. I hear you about the noise and will go as warned and prepared. Will for the first time do a couple days on the cliffs as well. Will I get my true boardie colours now??? Fred I don't stand still on the beach anyway and usually end up at SunBeach or Idle Awhile. This trip probably Sunnyside since so many good people are at Rooms. Can't wait!!!!
